For walking, climbing or scrambling in the Cuillin mountains, a short drive will take you to various starting points. For more info on walking see Walking Highlands. If you 'd like a guide we recommend Winky O'Neale who we have known for 16 years and is a regular guide for our guests! We can also recommend Graham Paterson who lives near by.
The area is a haven for various wildlife, including golden eagles, sea eagles & while sitting having breakfast you are most likely to see seals bathing on the shores of Loch Harport and you may even see a porpoise or otter swimming by.
A ten minute walk to Carbost village will take you to the world famous Talisker Distillery, where you can take a tour and taste some award winning single malt.
Pub meals are available at the Old Inn, with live music most weekends.
There is also a well stocked shop in the village selling newspapers, petrol and diesel.
Next to the shop is the post office which is open 4 mornings in the week.
If fishing is your hobby why not try a cast from one of our local rivers or hill lochs or even some sea fishing from the old Distillery pier. A perfect way to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Langal offers ample parking within the grounds and a grassed garden for simply sitting and enjoying the stunning views and spectacular sunsets at the end of Loch Harport.
